ENSYSTEX was founded in 1994 by pest control operators intent on changing the landscape of the professional pest control industry. To our knowledge, our effort represents the first time that pest control operators have ever started a chemical company intent on developing and marketing products for the industry. More than anything else, the development of EXTERRA and the Thor line of products is proof of what devotion to an idea by a small group of individuals working together can accomplish. Our ever-increasing list of pest control professionals is proof that this idea has truly met the needs of our structural pest control industry.
Who is Thor? Thor represents more than just another source of the products that make your job easier. He also represents a fundamental shift in how these products are produced and made available to you. This shift is the result of the melding of three overwhelmingly powerful forces that will shape the future.
What is different about Ensystex and Thor (compared to the traditional supply chain)? Ensystex works completely outside the traditional Pest Management Professional supply chain selling manufacturer direct to PMPs. Thor products are not a re-packing of another company’s product. They’re not a sub-brand or sub-registration. Ensystex owns the technical and end use active ingredient registrations for all its Thor products and formulates them all in house.
Nisus originally had its beginnings in 1987, when Bud Dietrich invented a product called Bora-Care® as a wood preservative for log homes. Soon thereafter, entomologists began contacting Dietrich to tell him that Bora-Care was proving to be toxic to a wide variety of wood destroying insects, including termites. In 1989, Dietrich moved Bora-Care into the pest management industry, targeting Pest Management Professionals (PMPs) specializing in pest control.
Nisus Corporation was founded in 1990 in Knoxville, TN. Since then, Nisus has grown rapidly and is one of the leading suppliers of products to the professional pest management industry. Nisus is a privately held company producing a full line of pest management products, including wood protection, insect baits and odor control at its manufacturing plant in Rockford, TN.
Today Nisus Corporation continues to lead the Green Pest Management® (GPM®) movement and bring sustainable wood preservatives to the railroad, utility, and lumber industries from its headquarters in the foothills of the Smoky Mountains in Rockford, Tennessee. Nisus has experienced rapid growth since its beginning in 1990 and now sells 30+ products in 7 countries around the world.
